Just wanted to keep you update to date on GRMYC North. We had our
rescheduled June meeting today, Wed. July 1, 2009 from 9am-11am here at
Cedar Ridge Morgans. We discussed the various styles of English riding.
Members were asked to create a collage of a saddle seat, dressage and
hunter rider. We examined various styles English Tack. We then groomed
two horses and tacked them up English. There were over 8 members present
and a few new potential club members. I gave an english riding demo. on
my Morgan Mare EBP Beverly's Promise so the members could see a hunter
horse in action. I then divided the youth into two teams and we had a
relay race. The members had to mount their horse, weave through cones to
the other end of arena, dismount, pick up a water balloon, remount,
weave back through the cones, stop at the pole on the ground and toss
the water balloon into a bucket of water, then move on to the next
person in line. The team with the most water balloons in the bucket won.
We had a lot of fun! I attached several pictures, because I thought they
all turned out really cute!
